Title
Edward Herbert: Letter to his father
Level
Item
Date
13 May 1851
Content description
States he is writing from a 'nasty, odious hovel of a hole'. Complains of having a hard day, 'a day of trial', where he translated a long piece of vert difficult English into Latin. He has weekly verses to do but does not know what they are about because there is no sense in them. Asks after the books that he requested and his bible, as the one he has he cannot take to church as it is too big.
