Thanks his mother for the letter and the Latin verses she sent. Following her advice he burns them once he has copied them out. Marks are not given in the first week. Recounts a story of how Ernwin and Turner were out of College and the master Balston pursued them until he caught them. Lock up is at 6 o'clock. He is now Neville's fag.
