On left Polyhymnia leans on her pillar to right, where stands another muse who turns to face the viewer. A basket of corn stands on the ground bottom right (according to Wegner, this is a later addition). A curtain hangs in the background, Montelatici : 'col fondo di marmo nero fregiato di giallo.'
