A lion stands to left, its left forepaw raised on a globe. On a rock mound between its right legs is the inscription OPUS FLAMINII/ VACCAE ROMAN. Perhaps this is the lion referred to in the Thieme-Becker as now in the Loggia dei Lanzi, Florence, but until 1780 in the Villa Medici, Rome.
