Description
The front of the altar or base is decorated in relief with the figure of Apollo Citharoed, who stands half-draped resting his lyre on a draped pedestal on right. His quiver and two bows (?) stand on the ground far right. He stands between two Corinthian columns which support a plain entablature topped by a vase on left. A laurel tree grows on left and mingles with the architecture. The other sides of the altar are shown in Bm 5. 56 and 59.
