Horatio's defence of the bridge

Description
Horatius in full armour stands in the centre of an arched bridge, facing the attack of the enemy on left. Behind him on right a group of men break up the bridge with pickaxes, backed up by a line of soldiers on far right. Part of a building stands in the background of the bridge on left.
Above the scene is the inscription: Monumentum Horatii super pontem confligen/tis quod aduc in romae ruinis ita sculptum est.
