Description
Content (description)
On rocks on right at the foot of a tree sits nude Venus, suckling a putto. In the centre stands a youthful Dionysus wearing a cloak, in the fold of which he collects fruit from the tree growing far left and spreading over him. A putto on right helps him to hold the bundle of fruit. On left at the foot of the tree and by a broken stump reclines a river god. He rests his right arm on an overturned urn, from which pours water, and with his right hand he holds his breast as water cascades from the nipple.
