On left Polyphemus walks to right to the edge of the sea, his cloak flying, and holds out his arms to Galatea, who swims to right accompanied by a putto. Both Galatea and the putto have leaves or fins sprouting on their legs. On the shore, right of centre, is a tree, on which hang a bow and quiver.
