Complex ceiling design. Square with a plain red outer border and three blue square frames, the middle of which has concave sides. Very fine tendril designs throughout in gold and nine framed images around the edges. In the very centre is a circle, perhaps indicating an aperture.

In the Thomas Ashby catalogue it is shown as 521 cm square but this refers to the area inside the outer painted red frame.

Inscription

No XV written in ink in centre of lower edge. This is the Thomas Ashby number for the Topham Portfolio.
The painting is taped down so no other inscriptions are visible.
