(Copy 1) 17th-century blind-stamped calf.
(Copy 2) 17th-century calfskin over pasteboards. Covers decorated with double gilt fillets to form a border with gilt tools at the corners (intersecting 'C's); centrepiece is gilt coat of arms of Nicolas Chevalier. Spine flat, decorated with gilt double fillets, fleur-de-lys tools, and titling ("Meursi Athenae Atticae"). Textblock trimmed. Endpapers of undecorated laid paper; one flyleaf at both ends of the textblock.
