"The life of Sr Henry Wotton, sometime provost of Eaton Colledge", "The life of Mr. Rich. Hooker, the author of those learned books of the laws of ecclesiastical polity", and "The life of Mr. George Herbert" each has separate dated title page, pagination, and register.
The words "Dr. John ... George Herbert." are bracketed together on title page.
The first leaf is blank and leaf A8 is blank.
Each of the lives, including that of John Donne, is preceded by an engraved portrait. Donne's portrait is signed by Lombart, those of Wotton and Hooker by Dolle, and that of Herbert by White.
An earlier version of Walton's life of Wotton was published as part of "Reliquiæ Wottonianæ" (Wing W3648) in 1651.
The text of Hooker's life is continuous despite pagination.
