[Ib2.4.30] A loose piece of paper dated 1924 with ms. notes explaining the provenance of the volume: "This book belonged to the Revd. G[eorge]. J[ohn]. Dupuis, Vice Provost. He made the insertions and added the notes. He bequeathed it to his eldest son, the Revd. G[eorge]. R[ichard]. Dupuis. Provost honorary borrowed it and had not returned it at the time of his death in 1909. It was included by mistake in the auction catalogue of his library, was bought by an unknown London dealer, and could not be traced. Fortunately it came into the possession of Lord Rosebery, who presented it to the College Library in May 1924".
