17th century vellum with gold-tooled central ornament. Remains of ties.

Copy 2: 16th century crimson morocco with presentation inscription; lettered in gilt on front cover from Marc Laurin (1530-1581) to Maximilien de Bergues (c. 1512-1570, Bishop of Cambrai (from 1559), and Goltz's motto HUBERTAS AUREA SECLI within an olive wreath in the centre of both covers. Binding probably executed in Bruges (cf. the Goltzius Fastos magistratuum 1566) also presented to de Bergues, in Foot, M. The Henry Davis gift vol. 1 (1978) pp. 220 & pl. In green box
