Dark red 16th century morocco, bound by Marcantonio Guillery in Rome. Horizontal "Apollo and Pegasus" medallion (blind-stamped and painted, though gilt and silver detail largely gone), with Greek motto stamped in gold. Title "Appiano Alessandri g. esterne" stamped in gold above medallion. Gold-tooled border of foliage tools.
