The manuscript note attributing the bookplate to the John Hannah (1792-1867) 'from whom descended the first Warden of Glenalmond' may be incorrect: although his son, also named John Hannah (1818-1888) was Warden of Trinity College Glenalmond from 1854 to 1870, he was not its first (that was Christopher Wordsworth, the poet's nephew).
