The Iliad and the Odyssey.
[Stroud, Gloucestershire : Paul Thomas, 2005].
2v.
Illustrations to the Iliad and the Odyssey. The first publication in 2002 was titled the Trojan War. Paul Thomas did not, for this publication, have full control over the printing process and the end result was poor tone contrast in the dramatic black and white prints. In 2006, following the creation of a further 80 drawings for the Odyssey, a new publication was made (25 copies) combining, in one bound edition, two volumes, the Iliad and Odyssey illustrations. Paul Thomas, for this, decided to do the whole printing process himself at his studio in Stroud, Gloucestershire.
The Odyssey has 80 plates; the Iliad 68. Includes an index to the plates.
Paper is Fabriano 300 gm hot pressed.
Printing was done in Paul Thomas' studio - light fast prints on a French "Giclée" printer.
The Eton copy is the first of the 25 copies produced.
Ms inscription on titlepage: dedication to Nicholas Kessler from Paul Thomas.
Blue cloth binding by Leslie Stallard in Worchester (2006).
