Rechberg met the artist Karnejeff and arranged for the printing and publication of his sketches made on travels throughout Russia between 1802 and 1805. They were prepared for engraving in Munich and eventually engraved by Scotnikoff, Manz, Melnikoff, Coqueret, Hess, Gros et al, for printing in Paris. Rechberg's text was edited for publication by Depping for this work and for his "Voyage pittoresque...".
