Consists of satirical attacks on the Pope, the Catholic Church, the Inquisition, and the Stuart dynasty, the author professing to be in flight from Rome to reach the land of free speech. Includes satiric essays on English manners, customs and morals.
During June, 1723, weekly publication resumed for four weeks; with the 9 July 1723 issue, semiweekly publication resumed on Tues. and Fri.
Occasional errors in numbering.
Last issue misnumbered "CXIX" instead of CXX; misdated: "March 26" instead of March 27, 1724.
With occasional supplement: Pasquin Extraordinary, numbered consecutively with other issues, but printed on a different day of the week.
