[Old Whig. Part 2]
The old whig. Numb. II. With remarks upon the Plebeian, No II.
London : Printed: and sold by J[ames]. Roberts in Warwick-Lane; and A[nne]. Dodd at the Peacock without Temple-Bar, MDCCXIX [1719].
[4], 15, [1]p ; 21cm. (4to).
Attributed to Joseph Addison (cf. DNB).
With a half-title.
Published in response to Richard Steele's 'The Plebeian'; cf. also 'The Patrician', by 'One who is neither a knight, nor a member of the House of Commons', which is sometimes attributed to Robert, Viscount Molesworth.
Although numbered, suggesting it was published serially, the presentation appears to ape that of 'The Plebeian' and also suggests that these were simply numbered tracts published in response to 'The Plebeian'.
Bound with twenty other items.
Ms. contents list on flyleaf.
Previously: Dm.5.1.
