Maiore, quàm hactenus vnquam, studio, fide, religione à vitiis quibus multiplici olim impressione contaminati fuerant, vindicati : Adiectis ad marginem non minus doctis quàm succinctis castigationculis, partim è vetustissimorum codicum collatione erutis, partim gravissimorum scriptorum autoritate, doctissimorumque hominum indicio apte appositis: quas ad syncerioris lectionis indagationem, velut in tenebris accensa face, non parum lucis confidimus allaturas. Vnà cum indice totius operis copiosissimo, non poenitenda rursus acessione locupletato, losicque propemodum innumeris, quæ cum autoris sensis non satis congruebant, quàm accuratissimè restituto.
