Belonged in the 15th century to the Carthusians at Erfurt.
15th century Erfurt binding signed by Johannes Vogel; alum-tawed pigskin tooled in blind over beech boards; each of the two vols fitted with furniture: four cast copper-alloy corners and a centre with octagonal boss, and each vol. has four fastenings; evidence of chains; contemporary manuscript title and shelfmark in black and red ink on a strip of parchment adhered to left side of first volume: "Prima pars Biblie K.6". Some German documents, one dated 1452, were used as pastedowns until at least the beginning of the 20th century. According to Paul Schwenke, these documents concerned the 'Oppidum at incole oppidi Erffordensis, St. Egidien in Nuremberg and ecclesia Bibacensis (Biberach)'.
Ff. 129r & 265r in vol 1 are of the first setting; f. 22r in vol. 2 are a special setting.
Ff. 1-5r and 129-132r have 40 lines; 5v and 310 have 41 lines.
Some painted initials. Decoration on ff. 1r, 5r of vol. 1 and f. 1r in vol. 2.
Eton copy lacks one blank leaf at the end of the second volume (f. 318).
Remains in both vols of pink-stained alum-tawed skin leaf markers present on various leaves, typically at the beginning of a book of the Bible.
