In 2 pts.: the 1st includes Aesop's life by Rinuccio, the fables in the prose version of Romulus and in the metrical version of the Anonymus Neveleti, the fables of Avianus, Rinuccio, Alfonsus, Poggio, and others, with additions and commentary by Brant; the 2nd pt. is a collection of fables by Brant adapted from various authors.
The woodcuts in the 1st pt. were first used in the undated ed. by Furter (ca. 1489-1500) and were reversed copies of Zainer's Ulm ed. of ca. 1476. The woodcuts in the 2nd part are sometimes attributed to the "Master of the Gruninger Office"; cf.
