Title

The difficulties and discouragements which attend the study of the Scriptures in the way of private judgment; represented in a letter to a young clergyman. In order to show, that, since such a study of the Scriptures is mens indispensable duty, it concerns all Christian societies to remove (as much as possible) those discouragements. By a Presbyter of the Church of England.

The seventh edition. / To which is annexed, the censure of the Lower House of Convocation upon this book. There is also added in this edition, a letter written by the Reverend Mr. John Hales of Eaton, to Arch-Bishop Laud, upon occasion of his tract concerning schism. Never before printed.
