Binding bears the words "Ashridge pulpit" and an armorial stamp of the lion rampart of the Egerton family, surmounted by an earl's coronet. Ashridge, in Buckinghamshire, was the seat of the Egerton family.
Contemporary reversed calf; gold tooled letteres and armorial stamp; spine covered in plain woolen cloth riveted to boards by tooled metal band.
