Engraved throughout. Leaf 1, title. Leaf 2, dedication. Leaves 3-19 each depict 2 antique vases printed from a single plate. Leaves 20-49 depict carved armorial shields from the facades of Roman buildings, while leaves 50 and 51 depict shields designed by Ciro Ferri.

Contemporary brown sprinkled calf; border and frame of gold tooled double fillet, with inner frame of gold tooled foliage roll, and large fleurons at each corner; gold tooled decoration on spine; red morocco spine label with gold tooled letters; five raised bands.
