Physical description

[20], 223 [i.e. 228] p. : port. ; 15 cm. (12mo.)

Note

Approximately 82% of Milton’s text in Book 1 is from George Downame’s "Commentarii" in Petrus Ramus "Dialecticæ libri duo" (1669 edition); in Book 2 approximately 73% derives from Downame’s text. Milton was in effect editing Downame’s commentary, purging it of postclassical examples. Cf. Lusignan, Francine.
