Ms. donation inscription in ink at head of vol 1 title-page and first leaf of vol 2 (p. 961): "Ex dono Johannis Turner, rectoris de Stower Preux, & quondam socii regalis collegii in Cantabrigia.". John Turner, rector of Stour Provost, Dorset 1585-1621, was commensal at 3rd table and afterwards K.S. at Eton. See Sterry, Eton College Register, p. 339.

Late 16th-century brown calf binding; blind roll panels within triple blind fillets joined at the corners; Eton arms on boards tooled in oxidised silver; six raised bands; earlier ms. parchment waste stubs; blind fillets on spine with blind diaper design at head and tail; chain hole and chain mark on upper board; remains of brass clasps and leather joints; red edges; fore-edge title "Chrys. Græcol.".
