The descriptive letterpress, printed in English and French columns, is extracted from Horace Walpole's Ædes Walpolianæ, according to the British Museum Catalogue.
A collection formed by the 1st Earl of Orford, and disposed of by the 3rd Earl.
Dedication signed John Boydell.
Includes engravings by F. Bartolozzi, P.P. Choffard, R. Earlom, P. Fourdrinier, J.B. Michel, and W. Pether.
The title-pages and dedication leaves are engraved; the architectural plates are numbered 1--28; the other plates bear no numbers but are numbered I--LX, in the letterpress.
The 162 plates were issued in batches of ten between 1774 and 1788.
