Ms. ownership inscription on verso of title-page, possibly in the same hand "Johannes Poeton me suum vult Anno domini 1632 et regis Caroli 8uo", identified by Robert Birley as John Poëton, son of Edward, of Petworth, Middlesex [sic], born 1619; St Alban Hall, Oxford, 1637; rector of Ashbury, Berks., 1661. On Major-General's list of suspects, 1655, as of Goring. Registered as lodging in Creed Church Lane, London, May 1656.

Ms. ownership inscription on title-page of "Albertus Morton", and "Albertus" repeated on loose flyleaf, possibly Sir Albertus Morton (1584?-1625), kinsman of Sir Henry Wotton, at Eton 1596-1602, or his nephew Albert Morton, at Eton 1634-39.
