16th/17th-century dark brown English calf binding; thick gold fillet between two blind fillets to form a border; rebacked in 20th-centurt brown calf stained to match on six raised bands; original spine retained with thin gold-tooled roll and acanthus ornament; brown morocco spine-label; remains of clasps; chain holes. Note in ECL card catalogue: Williamson binding.
