16th-century Oxford brown calf over wooden boards, ca. 1515; intersecting frame composed of a roll with twining flowers; the panel divided by diagonal fillets into lozenge-shaped and triangular compartments, containing "lattice" stamps and half-stamps; four raised double bands; blind fillets on spine; later red morocco spine-label; ms. parchment pastedowns; remains of brass clasps; ms. fore-edge title "Lactantius".
