Each engraving bears its own legend, copies of the inscriptions on each obelisk, the dimensions of the obelisk, and, in the case of the first four, details of its erection (or re-erection) by Sixtus V in 1586. The Agonalis obelisk, subject of the final three prints, was erected by Bernini under the direction of Innocent X in 1651.
Prints 5 and 6 are signed: Louis Rouhier sculpsit.
Print 7 is signed: Franciscus Poillij.
