Extensive ms. annotation by Thomas Savile with frequent reference to Turnèbe. Ms. inscription on verso of final free-endpaper: "Jhon [?Hum]frey". Engraved armorial bookplate of Eton College on t.p. verso; in library ca. 1600.

(Copy 1) 16th-century limp vellum laced case, laced at four double sewing supports; ms. spine title "Petronius Arbiter".
(Copy 2) ?16th-century laced case vellum binding. Covers undecorated. Spine flat with three sewing supports, undecorated. Textblock trimmed. Endpapers of undecorated paper; two flyleaves at the upper end of the textblock, none at the lower end.
(Copy 1) Previously: Ca.6.27, Ef.6.15. First front free-endpaper with ms. title "Petronius Arbiter".
(Copy 2) Former ECL shelfmark: DDl.6.6. Latin ms. note on title page, in the hand of Jacques Poillez. Some ms. signposts (a cross) and underlinings to the text. Loose letter by Arthur Cole to Joseph Burrell inserted between rear pastedown and textblock, dated 27 November 1949 and concerning this copy as well as a previous meeting between the two.
