Edited by Logan Pearsall Smith.
Collection of inimitable dicta of Mrs Warre Cornish of Eton College. Reprinted privately in Cairo in 1947 but never published.
According to an ALS from L. Pearsall Smith to "Eddie" dated 9 Jan. 1936, loosely inserted in a privately owned copy of the book, 50 copies were printed privately by "a young and unscrupulous Etonian" following Smith's decision not to proceed with the edition. The whole issue was confiscated but copies made available to "discreet persons" for a contribution to the Destitute Americans in Chelsea (private communication, July 2022; transcription of letter in ECL item file).
Bequeathed by Kenneth Rose, 2014.
With cutting from auction catalogue and 8 letters between Lascelles Abercrombie, Logan Pearsall Smith and Kenneth Rose about Abercrombie's work, a suggested Nobel Prize for Abercrombie etc.
Housed with supplement Cornishiana II in same bookseller's envelope.
