Annotated by Sassoon in ms. on front endpaper: "(Begun 9.7.29. Finished 15.7.29.) [I delayed reading it for various reasons - was slaving at the Infantry Officer till April, & after that submerged by my ministrations of S.T. at ?Garmisch].".
Printed ticket inserted by seller to identify this copy as Sassoon's.
Newspaper cutting entitled "Mrs. Hardy speaks out" loosely inserted, possibly by Sassoon. The cutting features a photograph of Florence Hardy and a caption about her criticism of night club life.
