A rationale, or practical exposition of the Book of Common-Prayer, by the Right Reverend Father in God, Anthony Sparrow, D.D. late Lord Bishop of Norwich. With his caution to his diocese against false doctrines, and his famous sermon of confession and the power of absolution. Signatures: A⁸(-A8) b-o⁸ A² B-Y⁸(-Y8).
Pages 275-296 comprise "The Bishop of Exon's caution" and pp. 297-317 "The confession of sins and the power of absolution", both with a separate divisional title-page.
Frontispiece is an engraved plate of "The compilers of the English liturgy" signed "P. La Vergne Inv. M. V. dr Gucht scul."
