2 ALS from Hardy to John Lane (15th Dec 1910 and 5th September 1912) tipped-in to front endpapers. The 1st ALS is the original, unrevised version of the letter published as part of the introduction. In the 2nd ALS, Hardy grants Lane permission to use the letter in the introduction. Both letters are in Millgate's Collected Letters, v. 4.
