With numerous subsidiary title pages. Most have imprint "Imprinted at London, 1634 [or 1633]"; some list John Beale or John Haviland as printer; another lists Richard Hawkins as publisher. "Haviland pr[inted]. A-3H, Flesher the rest except for 4K-4P, which was pr[inted]. by Beale"--STC.
Numerous errors in paging.

Includes frontispiece portrait of Hall (leaf A1), with imprint line: Imprinted for Philemon Stephens & Christopher Meredith, 1628.
Title within architectural border (not in McKerrow).
Volume 2 of the works was issued in 1634 with imprint "Printed by M. Flesher for Nath: Butter" and title: "The contemplations upon the history of the Nevv Testament, now complete: the second tome."
Volume 3 of the Works was issued in 1662 with imprint "Printed by R.H. J.G. and W.H. Sold by J. Williams, J. Sweeting, Nath. Brook, and J. Place" and title: "Divers treatises, written upon severall occasions, ... The third tome."

Later 17th-century sprinkled calf; border of blind double fillets with blind-tooled corner ornaments; armorial stamp of Edward Waterhouse (a pile engrailed) tooled in gold on both boards; gold fillet on board edges; gold-tooled spine compartments; five raised bands; red morocco spine label; ms. volume number on fore-edge.
All after p. 765 misbound at the beginning of volume 2 of the works (preceding the title page), and with all after p. 293 inclusive of the second volume bound in its place.
Uniformly bound as part of a 3-volume set of Hall's collected works, 1634-1662; ms. price "for 3 voll" on front flyleaf.
