Twenty-nine autograph letters. Most are from W. E. Gladstone but there are also letters sent in reply to Gladstone, including letters from Stephenson. As well as the individual letters, there is a sequence of letters between Gladstone and Stephenson about the 1863 budget (including replies) and another sequence between Gladstone and Stephenson, Walpole and Hamilton about succession duty.
