[1]: Large notebook bound in brown leather. "Haphazard journal during hazards of war kept by R. S. at various times & places 1940-42 - at back of xviii cent poems" in ms. on loose leaf at front of volume. Contains a variety of diary entries, literary quotes and analysis, sketches, letters and cuttings by Senhouse. Many of these are loose within the volume. Also contains summaries of sales for Martin Secker & Warburg for 1939 and postcards to Senhouse from Lady Colefax.

[2]: Notebook bound in light blue cloth containing Senhouse's ms. notes on literature and related diary entries. There are two pagination sequences (from each end of the volume) and corresponding ms. contents lists for each sequence are on the first and last pages. Topics listed on the contents pages include Kafka, Hamlet, Brideshead Revisited, Bloomsbury and George Orwell. Senhouse was Orwell's publisher and this volume contains Senhouse's ms. recollections of Orwell's visit on 24 July 1948.

Contains the books for Secker & Warburg from 1943 to 1946, sketches, diary entries, letters to Senhouse and ephemera. There are two pagination sequences (from each end of the volume). Much of the ms. notes, letters and ephemera is loosely inserted.

[4]: Notebook bound in cream leather with gilt decoration on front board. "Roger Senhouse, used 1961 & 64 Autumn" in ms. on front page, along with a rough ms. contents list. Contains loosely inserted letters and ephemera.

[5]: 2 loose leaves from one of Senhouse's notebooks, 3 letters about Major ?Walter Edmond Clutterbuck (1894-1987), a schedule of properties executed by Thomas Clutterbuck in favour of Peter Clutterbuck, an architectual drawing of Clutterbuck property, a deed for the transfer of shares in the West Middlesex Water Works, dated 1856, and a sales catalogue from 1888.
