Collection of 36 autograph letters, with accompanying envelopes. The majority are from John Ruskin to Harriet A. Martin, a Whitelands student who returned to the College as a governess between 1874 and 1884. She then became head of Cork High School for Girls, where most of these letters from Ruskin are addressed.
Note
There are also 3 autograph letters signed from Martin to Ruskin, 1885; an autograph letter signed from Ruskin to Rose Graves, 1886; 3 autograph letters signed from Mervyn Archdall, Bishop of Killaloe to Martin, 1900-1901; and an autograph letter signed from E. T. Cook, editor of Ruskin's Works, to Martin, 1904.
