Script: written in 'bastarda cancelleresca tipo Cento' (the Italian equivalent of non-current anglicana). One of the 19 known manuscripts attributed to the 'Copista principale del Cento'. 8-line ms. note on final page, partially erased, beginning "Nota che questo Dante" and apparently recording a payment; see Ker as cited in the references below for additional detail of the inscription.
Probably bequeathed to Eton in 1639 by Sir Henry Wotton, provost of Eton.
Misdated early 15th century by Petrocchi.
From f. 40 onwards there are marks in brown ink in the bottom righthand corner of most leaves, of unknown significance.
