Summary: In the first letter Morshead gives his opinion of Mrs Warre Cornish after reading her letters. In the second letter, Morshead recounts a visit paid to him by Michael Millgate and Rev. J. Yates. He describes how they had lunch at his house, which was separated from Thomas Hardy's house in Sturminster Newton "by only a paddock", and transcribes a recollection of Hardy by A. C. Benson that he obtained from reading his letters.
