"Tactica" by Aelianus incorrectly attributed to Claudius Aelianus; the "Leonis Imp. Tactica", here translated by Johannes Checus, was compiled by Leo VI, the Wise.
"Sixti Arcerii ad Claudii Aeliani Tactica, siue, De instruendis aciebus notae" -- p. [87]-214: with separate half title page.
"Leonis Imp. Tactica. Siue De re militari liber." with separate half title page commences new sequence of pagination.
"Modesti Libellus de De [sic] vocabulis rei militaris, ad Tacitum Augustum." (caption title): 7, [1] p. at end.
A joint reissue of the separate editions of the works published in 1613 and 1612 respectively (c.f. BL Low Countries). Part 2 has a separate colophon reading "Excudebat Ioannes Balduini, impensis Ludovici Elzeviri. Lugduni Batavorum XII. Mart. Anno M.DC.XII."

The folded leaves of plates are engraved illustrations of military tactics; with woodcut and typographic diagrams throughout.
