Includes a series of Latin orations given on the occasion of the foundation of Pembroke College, Oxford in 1624 (formerly Broadgates Hall). One of these was given by Sir Thomas Browne, then a fellow-commoner of Broadgates.

Engraved armorial bookplate of William Cole, of King's College, Cambridge, the antiquarian (1714-1782). Annotated by Cole in the margins, with cross-references to other books and manuscripts in his library. Includes this inscription on t.p. verso: Bought this book of Mr Osborne for a Crown. My Friend Browne Willis Esqr. told me he gave a Guinea for his Copy of the same.
