[Fs.3.10-Fs.3.13] An unsigned letter tipped in at front of v.1 of the "Bibliotheca ms. Stowensis", 1818, dated Stowe, November 1826, presenting "the Irish chronicles translated from the originals in the library at Stowe" to Eton College as a gift from the Duke of Buckingham and Chandos, probably refers to the present work.

[Fs.3.14] ALs signed "Grenville" [i.e. the Duke of Buckingham and Chandos] tipped in at front (6 pp.), dated 3 December 1814, presenting "the first volume of a work undertaken, carried on, & thus far printed at the expence of my poor brother the late Marquis of Buckingham" to the Provost of Eton College, with an additional note stating his intention of giving "the Irish vol.[when it] shall be fit for binding" to the College.
