With a portrait frontispiece of Charles I and a folded plate, bound before Eikōn basilikē, signed "Guil. Marshall sculpsit" and representing Charles with the crown of thorns in his right hand.
The imprint is false (see Wing).

"Eikōn basilikē. The pourtraicture of his sacred Majesty in his solitudes and sufferings" has a separate titl- page dated "M.DC.XLIX. [1649]." on N3r and begins new pagination; the register is continuous. Authorship of the Eikōn basilikē was originally attributed to Charles I, but according to Madan (pp. 125-133) it was written by John Gauden who probably included some authentic writings of the King.
"The papers which passed; first, between his Majesty and Mr. Alexander Henderson at Newcastle, An. Dom. 1646. Secondly, between His Majesty and Mr. Marshal, Mr. Vines, Mr. Caril, and Mr. Seaman, ministers attending the commissioners of Parliament at the treaty at Newport in the Isle of Wight. An. Dom. 1648. Concerning church-government. With his Majesties quaere about Easter. To which are added, his Majesties prayers. Snndry [sic] other things relating to His Majesties death" has a divisional half-title on V12r; pagination and register are continuous, though the catchword "The" on page [183] does not match the first word of page 185, "For".
"His Majesties answer to a pamphlet, intituled, A declaration of the Commons of England in Parliament assembled" (caption title), pp.1-12, second count, begins new pagination on leaf M9r; register is continuous.
