[The royal martyr: or, the life and death of King Charles I.]
The life and death of King Charles the first written by Dr. R. Perinchief: together with Eikon basilike. Representing His Sacred Majesty in his solitudes and sufferings. And a vindication of the same King Charles the martyr. Proving him to be the author of the said Eikon basilike, against a memorandum of the late earl of Anglesey, and against the groundless exceptons of Dr. Walker and others.

The 'Eikon basilike' was originally attributed to Charles I, but, according to Madan (p. 125-33), it was written by John Gauden, who probably included some authentic writings of the King.
The epistle dedicatory to 'The royal martyr: or, The life and death of King Charles I' signed: Richard Royston.
’The royal martyr: or, The life and death of King Charles I’, ’Eikon basilike’ and ’A vindication of King Charles the martyr’ all have separate title pages, dated 1684, 1685 and 1697 respectively; pagination and register are separate. ’Prayers used by His Majesty in the time of his sufferings’ (a part of "Eikōn basilikē") has separate title page dated 1685; pagination and register are continuous.
