Each translation has a divisional titlepage. That to the Epistle dedicatory is on leaf A3r and reads "An epistle dedicatory to Pope Clement XI. Wherein is given him a large and curious information of the state of religion among Protestants, and of many important particulars relating to Great Britain. Serving as a preface to the translation of an Italiam manuscript, found among the papers of the Abbot of St. Gall; entitled, The state of the Romish religion throughout the world; written for the use of Pope Innocent XI. By Monsignor Urbano Cerri, Secretary to the Congregation de Propagandâ Fide. By Sir Richard Steele. Translated into French the third time, with his approbation; and with notes". That to the preface to the Preservative is on leaf D4r and reads "The Bishop of Bangor's Preservative. Done from the English with his approbation. By Mr. de la Pillonniere, lately a Jesuite, and priest of the Church of Rome".
The "Epistle dedicatory" is in fact by Benjamin Hoadly.
