18th century marbled goatskin; silver-tooled floral border; smooth spine tooled in silver with floral motif in compartments formed by rolls; front cover with silver-tooled "IHS" Christogram and back cover with "MAR" monogram device with a crown above and a heart pierced by a sword below; gilt edges with gauffered decoration at spine; no endbands.
